Three components every useful business website needs
A useful website does three jobs in order: orient the visitor, reduce uncertainty and create a clear next step.
1. A clear promise
In the first screen, say what you help with, who it is for and why the outcome matters. A visitor should not need to interpret a slogan to work out whether they are in the right place.
2. Proof that answers doubt
Use real work, a visible process, relevant credentials, detailed testimonials or specific before-and-after evidence. Match proof to the concern a customer has at that point in the page.
3. One obvious action
Choose the next step that fits the decision: call, enquire, book, calculate, buy or download. Make it clear what happens after the click, then measure whether people complete it.
